He received his elementary and secondary education in Lagos, Nigeria. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr Eazi\u2019s upbringing greatly influenced his life both as an entrepreneur and an artist. He grew up in an entrepreneurial home as both parents were entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr Eazi is known for pioneering\u00a0Banku music, a fusion sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian\u00a0highlife\u00a0and Nigerian chord progressions & patterns. It is a sound characterized by percolating rhythms and laid-back vocals. Mr Eazi\u2019s music largely fits into the category of\u00a0Afrobeats, a contemporary West African pop genre that merges global pop,\u00a0highlife, and\u00a0hip-hop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/refinedng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/mr-Eazi-1080x694.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2373\" width=\"880\" height=\"565\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption>Mr Eazi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He began his music career while attending college in Ghana, where his side gigs included promoting concerts and running a concierge service shuttling through his company, Swagger Entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">At age 23, Mr Eazi returned to Nigeria and opened his own e-commerce platform. His business ventures included soft drinks import, gold mining, and food distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In 2017, he released the mixtape\u00a0Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos, which featured guest appearances by\u00a0Big Lean,\u00a0Tekno,\u00a0Phyno,\u00a0DJ Cuppy, and others. Included on the album were the singles \u201cLeg Over\u201d and \u201cPour Me Water\u201d, both sitting at over 74 million views on YouTube. The\u00a0Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the largest, most popular, and most profitable music festivals in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"http:\/\/google.com\">Mr Eazi\u2019s ascent to global stardom has seen him clock over 280 million YouTube views and more than 4.1 million Spotify streams per month, making him one of the most streamed African artists worldwide.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1170\" height=\"694\" src=\"https:\/\/refinedng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/empawa.-1170x694.jpg\" alt=\"Mr Eazi\" class=\"wp-image-2377\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/refinedng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/empawa.-1170x694.jpg 1170w, https:\/\/refinedng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/empawa.-768x456.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1170px) 100vw, 1170px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Mr Eazi is also the founder of emPawa. emPawa was launched in August 2019, emPawa is an initiative created with one mission: helping new artists reach their full potential musically by equipping them with the knowledge and funding to do so.
