Nigerian multinational financial institution, Guarantee Trust Bank Plc is set to hold the 5th edition of the GTBank Fashion Weekend on 14th and 15th of November, 2020.

Themed ”The Future of Fashion Retail,” the 2020 GTBank Fashion weekend will serve as a platform to showcase Africa’s finest fashion to a global audience. The event will feature a series of online Masterclasses facilitated by experts in the fashion industry and will train fashion enthusiasts and young entrepreneurs on fashion-related trends and strategies through interactive webinars.

The event will feature classy Runway Shows, which will create an exciting fashion experience for participants. The runway shows will showcase current trends in fashion and captivating fashion statements by Africa’s finest fashion brands, whilst observing health protocols.

The event includes Pop Up Shops to provide participants with a unique online shopping experience, Fashion Presentation and Gallery to celebrate established and promising brands and the Craft and Fabrics Market to showcase diversity in traditional art and culture through weaving, bead making, tying and dying.

The event will be attended by top fashion drivers and expert in Nigeria and across the globe. It will positively contribute to the expansion of fashion businesses as indigenous small fashion entrepreneurs will be privileged to showcase their products and services while expanding their online presence to reach a larger audience.

The GTBank Fashion Weekend projects the best of Africa’s fashion to a wider audience and promotes Africa’s brilliant fashion to the world. This year’s edition will bring together talented and recognized fashion brands and retail enterprises globally, to showcase fashion trends and products to a large audience, including fashion enthusiasts, consumers and press. 

Speaking on the 2020 GTBank Fashion Weekend, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of GTB, Segun Agbaje said,

”Fashion is more than just art or endeavour. It is a way of life, and as we make adjustments to how we live in these new realities, we are also reimagining how we create value for small businesses, the local fashion industry and our customers through the GT Bank Fashion Weekend. This year, key parts of our fashion experience will go online, but the focus remains the same; to drive the growth of our fashion industry by promoting enterprise for small businesses in the sector.”

GTB will provide an e-commerce platform to enable small businesses to connect with a large customer base online while providing fashion lovers with an amazing online shopping experience. GTB will also provide free custom-built online retail stalls and sponsor all promotional activities to drive sales for registered fashion brands.

Since 2016, the GTBank Fashion Weekend has expanded to become the biggest fashion event in Africa. The event welcomes over 250,000 participants, including enthusiasts, fashion entrepreneurs and fashion industry leaders annually. Since its launch, the event has hosted more than 300 business owners and has held insightful masterclasses and fashion presentations.

The GTBank Fashion Weekend is one of GTB’s social initiatives focused on providing small and medium businesses with real commercial opportunities and equipping them with the knowledge, resources and platform to achieve their business goals.
