LEGO Group, a popular Danish toy company, has appointed Nigerian tech leader Ebi Atawodi to its Board of Directors. As per the announcement made on Thursday, this is a significant achievement for both Atawodi and the company.
Atawodi, who served as the Director of Product Management for Creator Experience and YouTube Studio at Google, brings a wealth of experience in communications and product strategy to her new role. Before her tenure at Google, she held key positions at Netflix and Uber, where she spearheaded product development and payment initiatives.
Her journey into tech leadership began after she completed her studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Nottingham and obtained a master’s degree in Computer Science from Imperial College, London. Before venturing into product management, Atawodi honed her skills as a software engineer and served as the Head of Corporate Communications and Sponsorships at Etisalat Nigeria.

Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, Chair of the LEGO A/S Board of Directors, expressed his enthusiasm for Atawodi’s appointment, emphasizing her relevant experience and valuable insights. He also extended his gratitude to Eva Berneke, who will step down from the Board after 13 years of service, highlighting her significant contributions to the company’s growth and development.
