JOSH2FUNNY: DON’T LEAVE ME CHALLENGE GAINS OVER 2 BILLION VIEWS ON TIKTOK

One of such content creators is Josh2funny, Josh2funny is a versatile comedian with numerous personalities including Mama Felicia, Optununu, Gbas-gbos, Tunde Tupac, TTP of the Consequence Boys, Bro Zakius, and Juga. Josh2funny created the Viral Challenge everyone cannot get enough of; Don’t leave me challenge.

Josh2funny belongs to a flourishing generation of comedians in Nigeria, that has gained widespread popularity, largely through online skits. He is highly creative and brilliant with his skits.  He has created several compelling catchphrases that resonate with his audience. Some of his popular catchphrases are ‘All My Guys Are Ballers’, ‘Think About It, among several others.

Don’t leave me challenge is a fun social media challenge that has been generating a lot of buzz in recent weeks. The challenge started in March, 2020 when Josh Alfred, known as Josh2funny, posted a funny skit on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. In the skit, Josh2funny stood on some leaves and when his friend, Bello Kreb who filmed him, asked him to do something, he said he could not because he was “on leave” (making a reference to the fact that he was receiving inspiration). He then picked some leaves and pointed them at his friend saying, “I am taking my leave”. As he walked away, his friend Kreb chanted “Don’t leave me!” and voila, a new internet challenge was born.

The skit went viral in June with several people creating their own versions of the skit accompanied by their own jokes, wordplays, puns, and videos. Just like Josh, participants come up with some preposterous jokes or wordplay and then run away, and usually, someone yells after them “Don’t leave me! Don’t leave me!! Take me with you!”.

Josh2Funny is now global with features on CNN and the Time Magazine.

According to Josh2funny, the ‘Don’t leave me’ music is coming out in July. We are excited and cannot wait to listen to the wordplay and wisdom nuggets.
