Oluwasoga Oni Gains More Recognition as an African Business Hero

Oluwasoga Oni, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, MDaaS Global has emerged 1st runner up in the Jack Ma Foundation’s ‘Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative’ (ANPI) which concluded recently. The Jack Ma Foundation launched the search for the 2020 Africa’s Business Heroes in April 2020, with a proposed award of US$1.5 million in grant money to ten finalists. 

Oluwasoga Oni Gains More Recognition as an African Business Hero

In October 2020, the ANPI selected top 10 finalists, which included Oluwasoga Oni to pitch at the competition’s grand finale. The 10 finalists were selected from over 22,000 applications across 54 African countries after several successful assessments. Among the 10 finalists which included 5 males and females representing other African countries, Oluwasoga Oni clinches 2nd position, winning the sum of $250,000 in grant.

Oluwasoga Oni co-founded MDaaS Global, a medical technology company in January 2015. The company is building Africa’s largest network of private diagnostic facilities and providing convenient high-quality and affordable healthcare for Africa.

Prior to Co-founding MDaaS Global, Oluwasoga Oni worked as a Software Engineer at Dell EMC, where he alongside his team were in charge of developing and maintaining the Linux OD Layer on which EMC’s proprietary software is developed. He had also affected several technology companies like Zebra Technologies, where he was Firmware Engineer. At Zebra Technologies, he worked extensively, resolving Firmware Sustaining Issues.

Oluwasoga Oni holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information and Communication Technology from Covenant University, a Master of Science in Engineering and Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute. He is a System Design and Management Fellow (SDMF) at MIT.

Oluwasoga Oni Gains More Recognition as an African Business Hero

The ANPI, now in its second year is the Jack Ma Foundation’s flagship philanthropic program in Africa that aims to give entrepreneurs across Africa a platform to develop their talents, business ideas and inspire others to pursue entrepreneurship. The ANPI focuses on entrepreneurs who are creating innovations to solve some of Africa’s pressing problems.
