Seyi Adekunle

Seyi Adekunle is a Nigerian fashion entrepreneur listed among the largest fashion labels in Nigeria. He is the Founder and Chief Designer of Vodi Group of Companies, a business that creates personalized men’s clothing. 

Seyi developed a passion for tailoring during his NYSC, where he began to sew shirts and boxers for fellow Corp members. Upon completing NYSC, he launched his company legally and registered it as Testimony Fabrics, which was later changed to Vodi.

Vodi tailors give close attention to silhouettes, vertical structures and dimensional patterns when creating new pieces. They have refined style by using African fabrics to create unique designs, adding a contemporary twist to the traditional form, with strong vibrant colours and rich textures.

Through dedication and hard work, Vodi flourished, expanding its outlets and product line to include suits and blazers. By 2017, Vodi Group had become one of Nigeria’s prominent fashion labels having styled a number of Nollywood celebrities and top politicians. 

Seyi completed a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Maiduguri.

Vodi Group also ventured into exports, with a network of over 100 outlets across the country.

Seyi’s entrepreneurial spirit further led to the establishment of Vodi Clean, a laundry and dry cleaning service, and the Vodi Training Institute, a fashion school.

Seyi has won several awards including 2022 African Fashion International Award for Best Fashion Designer, 2021 Nigeria Fashion Awards for Best Designer of the Year, 2020 City People Fashion Awards for Designer of the Year, 2019 YNaija Style Awards for Fashion Designer of the Year and 2018 African Fashion Foundation Awards for Emerging Designer of the Year.
