Swanky Jerry is a distinguished member of the recently announced Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 2020 achievers list.

Jeremiah Ogbodo, better known as Swanky Jerry, is a Nigerian celebrity fashion stylist and the CEO of Swanky Signatures Styling. Swanky Jerry is a native of Enugu State. Swanky’s love for fashion started at a young age as he and his family travelled from city to city. They would wear the attires of the locals of each city they visited to fully immerse in the cultural landscape. Growing up with this lifestyle, he became inspired by his surroundings and began to invest in Nigerian fashion magazines and style-watching at society events to observe the elaborate fashion showcased by the attendees.

After the death of his father, Swanky Jerry socialized a lot as a coping mechanism. It was not long before people began to refer to him as “that stylish guy”.

“It was a bittersweet journey for me because although I had experienced one of the biggest losses in my life, the death of my father had practically pushed me into the amazing place I am today. I found happiness and peace in creating and was virtually driven to turn my passion into a career in order to make money and fend for myself. And this was during a very difficult time as fashion styling, especially for me, wasn’t very popular or respected in Nigeria. However, I took the risk and I’m very grateful for where it has led me to today,” Swanky Jerry says.

In 2012, Swanky Jerry launched his fashion and lifestyle brand, Swanky Signatures Styling. It has since grown to become one of the most popular and influential brands in the industry.

Swanky Jerry’s styling is a sophisticated arrangement of African Ankara fabrics and intricate designing. Swanky Jerry has styled a vast range of high profilers including African presidents, first ladies and a host of celebrities: Tonto Dikeh, Davido, Tuface, Waje, Iyanya, Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, Ice Prince, MI, Tu Face, Juliet Ibrahim, Praiz, D’banj, among others.

Swanky Jerry is intentional about contributing to the society by partnering with different charities and supporting movements such as ‘Break the Silence’ and #WalkForLove.

Swanky Jerry has received several recognitions for his work overtime. He was awarded the Stylist of the Year in 2014 and the Male Entrepreneur of the year in 2016, both at the Lagos Fashion Awards. Swanky Jerry’s work and styles have been featured in many prominent and global magazines.

In 2017, he won awards for the Fashion Stylist of the year and Style Influencer of the year at Maya Awards. He has also been featured internationally by CNN.
