Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is a non-profit organization that has implemented programs that inspire, empower and advocate for greater representation of women in leadership positions in the public and private sector.

The organization was formed in 2001 to promote the protection and development of women through regular conferences & lectures, training sessions, mentoring and networking. With a vision to be the catalyst that elevates the status and influence of women and their contribution to nation-building, WIMBIZ has four key pillars of operations through its programs which are to advocate, empower, inspire and connect.

The organization was formed by thirteen vision aligned women and one man – Chi-Chi Okonjo. The founding members of WIMBIZ include Yewande Zaccheaus, Omobola Johnson, Ibukun Awosika, Morin Desalu, Adeola Azeez, Funmi Roberts, Faith Matthews, Mairo Bashir, Toyin Olawoye, Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, Ifeoma Idigbe, and Chi-chi Okonjo.

Located at Ikoyi, Lagos, WIMBIZ now has a contributory associate pool of over 770 accomplished women and more than 10,000 women on its database.

WIMBIZ has collaborated with credible domestic and international organizations to deliver programs, which have influenced over 119,000 women since inception. It is a volunteer-based organization, funded largely by donations by members and partner.

WIMBIZ is the first Nigerian NGO rated by NGO Advisor and ranked 428 worldwide. It is also the only African / Nigerian affiliate partner and representative of the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (IWEC) Foundation.

WIMBIZ is currently headed by Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo as the Chairperson of the Executive council. Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo is a Corporate and Institutional Banking Executive with over 17 years of experience in Financial Services.

WIMBIZ holds her annual conference every November. It started in 2003 and is now attended by over 1500 women from all over the world to discuss a broad range of issues centred around a cutting-edge theme that is topical and relevant to women in the business, corporate, public and development sectors.
