2020 Echoing Green Fellows: Jocelyn Agbo Selected for Nigeria
Jocelyne Agbo has been selected as one of the 2020 Echoing Green fellows. Jocelyn’s bold idea that landed her a place amongst the top 13 fellows was a vision to “Increase production capacity, yield, and income of smallholder rural farmers in remote communities by providing direct access to agricultural inputs, services, and market linkage.” Thus, enabling farmers to increase their production capacity, yield, and income.
The Echoing Green Fellowship provides unrestricted seed-stage funding and strategic foundational support to emerging leaders working to bring about positive social change.
The 13 talented winners were selected from a pool of 3,134 applicants working in 161 countries after a 10-month vetting process.
Members of the 2020 Echoing Green class are tackling pressing global issues which includes systemic racism, educational inequities, unemployment, air pollution, and mental health care.
The 2020 Echoing Green Fellows come from across the globe, working in seven different countries and territories: lndia, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, and the United States.
Farm On Wheels enables small holder rural farmers increase production capacity, yield and income with 60% of them being rural Women. The platform provides a better life for rural women and youth to reduce poverty. Farm On Wheels provides direct access to quality farm inputs, training, extension services, input credit, and market linkage. Over the long term, Farm On Wheels is committed to improving the lives of smallholder rural farmers, preserving the environment, and contributing to food security.
In her acceptance message via twitter, Jocelyne said, “I am so excited to announce that I have been selected to join the prestigious Echoing Green Community as a 2020 Echoing Green Fellow.”
Jocelyne is a Mandela Washington Fellow, D-Prize award winner and a Global Social Benefit Institute (GSBI) alumnus.
