Congratulations are in order as Istifanus Peter Mahan becomes the first Nigerian to cross the finish line in the 2021 edition of the #AccessBankLagosCityMarathon which held at Eko Atlantic City on Saturday, the 10th of April.

The Plateau-born previously won the Ibadan City Marathon organized by Splashfm105.5 at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan and was the first Nigerian to breast the finish tape at a time of 2:37:52.

Also, Kenya’s Emmanuel Naibei emerged winner of the 42-kilometre race while Meseret Dinke from Ethiopia won the female category at a time of 2:28:51.

Emmanuel returned at a time of 2hrs15 mins 01 seconds (official) to claim the top prize of $30,000. This is the second-fastest ever in the history of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The 6th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon welcomed only 300 elite runners.
