Adaora has always loved the engineering space. In her words, “My first interaction with a computer was when I was 7 years old. I started by making movie screenplays and business cards with Microsoft PowerPoint and CorelDraw respectively. At some point as well, I got introduced to the internet, and I discovered that technology was very exciting. I spent a lot of my childhood in front of a desktop computer. This was how I got into tech. Because I found it exciting, I started reading about computers and I discovered programming. I was also taking my ICT classes seriously at school, and I got a computer science degree. This led to my Software Engineering career.”

Adaora’s published book – Cloud Engineering for Beginners, focuses on people looking to start their cloud engineering careers. The book introduces the reader to the concept of the cloud, its importance, the roles of a cloud engineer, how to pick a cloud engineering career path, and how to succeed in that career. Adaora believes that if her book can impact people and help them start their careers, it would be a big win for her. She’s excited about the numerous impacts of her book, and where her career is headed.

To help others stay motivated, Adaora spends some free time on Twitter and LinkedIn, sharing her experience as a woman in tech. She is passionate about the developer community in Nigeria and is constantly driving inclusion for women in technology. She co-organizes community events for unStack Africa, contributes to Open Source, and speaks at technology conferences worldwide. These events spark excitement and enthusiasm in young people and have led to more people wanting to start their careers in tech.
