Amanda Obidike

Amanda Obidike is a multi-award-winning social innovator and technologist with extensive experience in directing social enterprises, startups, and complex organizations in Africa. She is the Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa, a Non-governmental organization that equips young Africans with STEM emerging tools, and real-world problem-solving skills that they need to excel in their various careers.

As Executive Director, Amanda provides leadership, and strategy management and oversees the design and implementation of sustainable community projects and STEM Education across 19 Sub-Saharan countries. She prepares the next generation of Africans with STEM lucrative skills for Africa’s workforce.

Amanda received a degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and other certifications from Santa Clara University, Havard Medical School, The Open University US, International Business Management Institute (IBMI), and The British School of Milan.

Amanda currently serves as a Mentor in the New York Academy of Science, Cherie Blair Foundation, the 1million Women in Tech, and Global thinkers for Women where she lends her voice and knowledge to serve as a role model to girls in Africa.

A driven and ambitious leader, Amanda excels in building effective and high-functioning teams through driving education reforms, policies, and instructional pedagogy in STEM.

As well as STEM, Amanda addresses thematic topics on Social Innovation, Data Science, Youth Development, Entrepreneurship, and reform in Education Curriculum.

In recognition of her efforts in successfully championing diversity in technology and innovation for the girl child, Amanda was recognized by Forbes Science as an African who is changing the culture fabric for young talents to embrace opportunities in STEM. She has received other national and international awards including The Global Award for Achievement by TechWomen 100, Top 5 Female Innovators in Africa by AfricaTech, Rising Star Award Winner of DITA Microsoft, Female Innovator and Executive of the Year: Gold Stevie Award, Technology Rising Star Award by WOC, Michigan, Positive Impact Award of Athena40: The World Most Innovative Women, 2020, 100 Leading Ladies in Africa, and Role Model Finalist in Booking.com Technology Playmakers Awards.

Amanda is a fellow of the MIT Global Community Bio, Yunus & Youth Fellowship; Brazil, Goldman Sachs, Falling Walls Berlin Engage, Michael Jordan Youth Fellowship, Nigeria Global Affairs Council, Youth Center for Research, SIP LEAP Africa, Kectil and YALI RLC.
