Ayo Edebiri wins the Best Actress in Comedy SAG Award for her performance in “The Bear”
The 2024 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards made history on Saturday night with its inaugural live stream on Netflix, honoring the outstanding performances of 2023.
Ayo Edebiri won the SAG award for her outstanding portrayal of Sydney Adamu in “The Bear,” securing the title for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

While accepting the award, Edebiri shared, “I am so very grateful for this. I’m in a room full of so many people who I admire and whose work has lifted me up,” she said on stage. “I’m an artist and I’m very lucky to be an artist and I know we all feel that way so I just really want to acknowledge that.”
Edebiri, has won a host of other awards for her role as Sydney Adamu in Hulu’s dark restaurant comedy The Bear including an Emmy Award, Critics Choice Award, and Golden Globes Award.
