Avance Media and Africa Youth Awards have released the 5th annual list of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans for 2020. This announcement precedes the African Union’s annual Africa Youth Day celebration which is designed to celebrate young pioneers and pacesetters across Africa in 2020.

For this year’s publication, top celebrities, influencers, game-changers, artists, activists, journalists, OAP, athletes, bloggers, TV hosts, CEOs, tech-savvy innovators, creatives and other world changers have made it to the list of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans for the year 2020.

Some of Nigeria’s finest personalities named on the list include Burna Boy, Simi, Davido, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Kiki Mordi, Ola Brown, Adebola Williams, Asisat Oshoala, DJ Neptune and more.

The list includes 49 women and 51 men chosen from 29 different African countries. Annually, the list recognizes young Africans for their remarkable contributions to the development of Africa in various fields and sectors. On the list, Nigeria was the most represented with 21 young achievers on the list. This is followed by Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, with 10 young representatives each.

Commenting on the list, Prince Akpah, the Managing Director of Avance Media said,

“The 2020 list features young people pursuing various interests intended to put the name of the continent on the globe through selfless sacrifices and spirited leadership. Young people are motivated by the stories of these young achievers who continue to take a lead amid a Global pandemic.”

The outstanding young Africans were selected across a broad range of criteria which included; Excellence in Leadership, Performance, Personal Accomplishments, Commitment to Sharing Knowledge, Breaking the Status Quo and being an accomplished young African.

Asides the 100 Most Influential Young African list, the PR & Rating company also includes lists like Ghana Social Media Ranking, 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians and recently, 100 Most Influential African Women, which was widely acknowledged across the globe.
