It’s encouraging to be reminded that inspiring women don’t start out being extraordinary. Regardless of where they start in life, most have had to push through hardship,  manage bias and persevere to reach for the stars and achieve the impossible. Daily, Nigerian women are making a difference and paving the way for more women in diverse sectors to thrive. A notable mention is Ebehijie Momoh of Mastercard.

Ebehijie Momoh is the Area Head, West Africa at Mastercard where she advances the fintech’s presence in West Africa. Ebehijie Momoh also deploys innovative payment solutions through partnering with local governments and market regulators to build a World Beyond Cash.

Before MasterCard, Ebehijie Momoh worked at Standard Chartered Bank, where she was most recently Head of Retail Banking in Ghana. Previously, she was Head of Retail Banking in Nigeria and Head of SME Banking for Nigeria and West Africa. In both positions, Ebehijie was responsible for the development and execution of the Retail Banking business strategy and delivering the results.

Ebehijie started her banking career in Nigeria at Guaranty Trust Bank in 1993

and subsequently had stints at Diamond Bank in 1995, rising fast to become the Regional Manager South. From 2006 to 2011 Ebehijie was with First City Monument Bank, where she held various senior management positions including Assistant Vice President and Zonal Head, Midwest Zone, Vice President and Group Head Conglomerates and Group Head Commercial Banking, Lagos and South Region.

Ebehijie completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Benin, Benin State, Nigeria. She holds another Master of Business Administration from Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom.Ebehijie is a Chartered Banker in Nigeria and Scotland, and an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

The next time I read a blog, Hopefully it does not fail me just as much as this particular one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read through, but I truly believed youd have something helpful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something you could possibly fix if you werent too busy seeking attention.
