God Calling

God calling captures an imaginative modern-day spirituality that explores the possibility of having spiritual characters like Abraham or Prophet Elijah as Nigerian in a contemporary time like this. The movie spotlights how they will navigate the modern world as well as adjusting to technological trends such as smartphones and social media. The movie captures themes of faith, obedience and deep spirituality amidst life’s struggles. Written and directed by Bodunrin ‘BB’ Sasore, God calling is already available on Netflix.

The Fisherman’s Diary

The Fisherman’s Diary tells the story of a young girl, Ekah, who is living beyond impossibilities. Determined, Ekah wants to pursue an education in a village of fishermen, where girl-child education is considered taboo. Directed by Enah Johnscott, the movie features star actor Ramsey Nouah. The Fisherman’s Diary is already available on Netflix.

Ojukokoro (Greed)

Ojukokoro translates to greed in the Yoruba language. The movie recounts the tale of a cash strapped manager in a money laundering petrol station. Directed by Dare Olaitan and produced by Olufemi D Ogunsanwo, Ojukokoro features movie stars like Linda Ejiofor and Zainab Balogun amongst others. The movie will be available from the 9th of April.

Awon Boyz

Awon Boyz is a 38-minute documentary that captures themes of love, freedom, hope and self-belief. The documentary reveals the everyday life of a typical Nigerian hustler. Produced by Tolu Itegboje, Awon Boyz will be available on Netflix from the 14th of April. Watch out!

Doctor Bello

Doctor Bello centres around a cancer specialist who after losing his 10-year old daughter to cancer tries everything possible to help find a cure for a 7-year old boy diagnosed with cancer. Starring Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Okereke-Linus, Rachael Oniga and others, Doctor Bello is coming to your screen on the 16th of April. Can’t wait!

Oloibiri

Eight Nollywood Titles to Watch Out for on Netflix this April

Oloibiri is an action thriller film directed by Curtis Graham. The film recounts the exploitation of newly discovered oil by government agencies and oil companies in the historic town of Oloibiri. Starring Olu Jacobs, Richard Move Damijo and William R. Moses, Oloibiri will be available from the 22nd of April. 

This Lady Called Life

This Lady Called Life tells the story of Aiye, an ambitious cook with a desire to become well sought after. Starring Jemima Osunde, Lota Chukwu, Wale Ojo, and others, the movie will be available from the 23rd of April.

Seven

Seven follows the story of a rich and irresponsible character named Kolade. Seven recounts how Kolade manages an unthinkable task to survive. The movie stars Richard Move Damijo, Bimbo Manuel, Daddy Showkey, Orezi and others. Seven will be available from the 30th of April.
