Entrepreneurs play a significant role in every economy, using innovation and skills to anticipate needs and bring new offerings to the market. Successful entrepreneurs are rewarded with profits, fame and continued growth opportunities.
In the world of young Nigerian entrepreneurs, we bring to you Henrich Bankole Akomolafe. Henry Akomolafe is one of the successful under-30 entrepreneurs in Nigeria. Henrich Bankole Akomolafe is a businessman, a tech entrepreneur and the co-founder and Managing director of Akotex Nigeria Limited, a business conglomerate servicing the elevator engineering segment, real estate, fitness and wellness sectors in Nigeria.
He attended the Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering and Pompeu Fabra University, Spain where he received his Master’s degree in Information Technology Strategic Management.
At the tender age of eight, Henrich was introduced into the world of business by co-founding a company with his father where he serves on the board of directors to date. This early start inspired him and has retained his interest in entrepreneurship.
Henrich, however, insists that nothing was handed to him on a silver platter by his family as some would assume.
“As a child, I always had a flair for business and growing up in a family that supports me sparked it. My interest in a business career came as a product of an inherent affection for business and an enabling environment that is beyond the limits of money. Really, there was no large sum of initial start-up capital. The business idea was present, and the skills were also in hand. So, generating start-up capital was a fusion of skills with ideas. This is what entrepreneurship is about- using value as a skill in order to generate value as a commodity”, he stated.
As an advocate of young graduates, Henrich is keen on taking on young passionate graduates in related fields.
Henrich Akomolafe has received recognition for his achievements as a young entrepreneur. He was named one of Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 Achievers in 2019 and Forbes Africa 120 Game Changers in 2019. He has also earned the Peace Builder Award for Excellence in Business Entrepreneurship and Leadership Skills.
