Kunle “Lionheart” Adeyanju
Kunle “Lionheart” Adeyanju is a Nigerian biker and humanitarian who rode from London to Lagos, covering a total of 12,000km across 13 countries and 41 cities, to raise worldwide awareness around polio.
Kunle Adeyanju embarked on the sensational #LondonToLagos trip on the 19th of April and arrived in Lagos on the 29th of May, 2022. The biker’s mission was clear – to create awareness around polio and to raise funds to execute some community projects in Nigeria. This was done in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro, of which he is President-elect. According to his GoFundMe page, 20% of the funds raised will be donated to the Rotary PolioPlus Foundation.
The biker started his 41-day trip in London and stopped in France and Spain. From there, he crossed into Morocco and went to Casablanca. Before arriving in Lagos, Kunle also stopped at Mauritania, St. Louis, Dakar, Mali, Bamako, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Accra, Lome, and Benin, where he was properly hosted by representatives. Kunle’s ride also featured several humanitarian works. He stopped at the field to immunize children and also to meet with volunteers who keyed into his mission.

The biker finally arrived in Lagos on Sunday, 29th of May 2022, where he was received by a cheering crowd, as well as other bikers and humanitarians in the city.
Kunle’s childhood experience with the disease led to his passion to not only raise awareness around it but to also raise funds to fight against it worldwide. While significant progress has been made in Africa, Kunle wants everyone to be intentional about sustaining this result on the continent and wiping the disease from the world.
Having completed what seemed like a difficult and Impossible mission to raise funds to fight and end polio across Africa, Kunle believes his aim has been accomplished as almost everyone is now aware of the disease. Although his trip is over, he still wants to do more. Kunle intends to sell his bike and donate the money to charity.
Kunle has received several accolades for his initiative by many including Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft. He was recently conferred the chieftaincy title of Are Aniyikaiye of Offa Land, by his majesty the Olofa of Offa.
