Mpape Crushed Rock
Mpape Crushed Rock is a quarry situated in Mpape, Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. The quarry, which was opened in 1977, was the source of most stones used to transform Abuja from a small village in the 1980s into the country’s capital city.
Mpape Crushed Rock is often called a “man-made quarry with special own appeal”. This is because it was only a shallow quarry until workers struck an aquifer, causing water from beneath to flood the quarry and its machinery, forming a beautiful lake.
Mpape Crushed Rock has become an attractive visitation site for Abuja residents, tourist and visitors because of its scenic features.
