Nabila Aguele is a Member of the INSEAD Board of Directors
Nabila Aguele, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning has been appointed to the INSEAD Board of Directors. As stated by INSEAD, Nabila Aguele “is a true global citizen and experienced leader”. INSEAD is one of the world’s leading and largest graduate business schools, with locations in Europe, Asia, the MiddleEast, and North America.
A lawyer and public policy advisor, Nabila Aguele is passionate about sustainable development projects, human capital development and public financial management. In 2020, she joined an international panel of judges for the Girl Rising #MyStory Challenge to raise awareness on gender, racial, and economic inequality through storytelling.
Nabila currently serves as a Special Adviser to Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed; where she advises on international development cooperation, performance monitoring and data-focused policy formulation and implementation. As a strong advocate for gender equality, Nabila advises the Ministry and its Agencies on initiatives to make public financial management systems more gender-responsive.

She previously worked as a Special/Technical Assistant to the Honorable Minister of State for Budget and National Planning from May 2016 to September 2018, where she advised and supported the ministry in areas of macroeconomic policy and economic management. Nabila also provided expert advice and support to the minister in implementing the National Monitoring and Evaluation framework for the budget and strategic implementation plan.
Nabila has worked as Professor and Practitioner-in-Residence, Intellectual Property Law Clinic and PIJIP at the American University Washington College of Law from July 2011 to June 2013. Other areas of work include being Senior Litigation Associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Patent Litigation Associate at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP (now Dentons).
Nabila completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Toronto, A Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law, and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD.
Nabila has been an active member of the INSEAD Campaign Board since 2019, and the INSEAD Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Taskforce since 2020. She previously volunteered in Everybody Wins! DC as Power Lunch Program Coordinator for Morrison and Foerster LLP.
Nabila serves on the Advisory Board of Talentx Africa, a media investment company.
