Netflix Acquires Exclusive Rights to Ekene Som Mekwunye’s film, “One Lagos Night”
International streaming service, Netflix has acquired the rights to Ekene Som Mekwunye’s film “One Lagos Night”. The movie is set to be released on the 29th of May 2021.
“One Lagos Night” features popular actors such as Ikponmwosa Gold and Kunle Idowu (known as Frank Donga) as the lead role as well as others including Eniola Badmus, Ali Nuhu, Gbubemi Ejeye, Genoveva Umeh, Ogbolor, Ani Iyoho and Korexx.
The film screened on the final night of the Nollywood Week Film Festival.

One Lagos Night by Ekene Som Mekwunye follows the life of an unemployed graduate who risked his life and freedom to venture into what he hopes would pay off big in the long run.
Ekene Som Mekwunye is a filmmaker with special skills spanning Film Production, Screenwriting, Editing and Teaching. His films have screened in different film festivals across the world including the Cannes International Film Festival. Ekene is the producer of the movie, “Sylvia” (2018) and director and producer of “Light in the Dark” (2019).
As well as his filmmaking career, Ekene Som Mekwunye also lectures on Film Production at the Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria.
