Oluwatamilore Kabiawu is a Nigerian Teen with Admission Offers from 14 Colleges and Universities Including 5 Ivy League Schools

Oluwatamilore “Tami” Kabiawu, Fair Lawn High School senior is the definition of a high-achieving student. Popularly called Tami, the high achiever recently stunned the internet when he got admission offers from 14 colleges, including 5 Ivy League Schools. With this achievement, Tami has made a lasting impact on the students and others within the Fair Lawn community.

Some of the colleges he got accepted into are Princeton University, Harvard University, Columbia, Yale, Cornell and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

According to Joseph Lake, Tami’s guidance counsellor, Tami is truly gifted and his can-do attitude has contributed greatly to bringing him this far. He said,

“Tami is truly a gifted young man. What Tami is experiencing is the result of his self-esteem and feelings of love and belongingness – being nurtured to its full potential.”

To Tami, his accomplishments are a result of hard work and consistency.

“What makes me most happy is making these little goals and sticking with them, and gradually over time achieving the big goal.”

Tami says he is leaning towards Harvard University, “the best of both worlds – technology and liberal arts”, where he aims to major in Computer Science and research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR).

As well as his growing academic success, Tami is also an accomplished track and field athlete. He is President of the Future Business Leaders of America and National Honour Society.

Tami, who was born in London relocated to Fair Lawn along with his family when he started sixth grade at Memorial Middle School. 

Currently, Tami has a 4.6 GPA, a host of athletic accomplishments and 14 colleges to choose from. He hopes to create innovations in AI and AR. He also intends to work on research and projects in these creative fields of study.

Tami’s interest in technology stems from being able to connect with his father, who lives and works in Nigeria, via FaceTime and WhatsApp.

Tami is set to graduate on the 22^nd of June 2021 at Fair Lawn High School’s Sasso Field. It is a new rising for the Fair Lawn senior!
