The approach of the Nigerian youths towards achieving their set objective is highly laudable. All over the country and beyond, the youths have united across various tribes, religion, professions, class, and locations to strongly and uniformly air their views without fear or favor. Their energies have not only called the attention of foreign news agencies, foreign celebrities and citizens, it has further attracted commendations from past Nigerian leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan as well as support from religious leaders like Sam Adeyemi and traditional leaders like the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Nigerian youths have shown how an effectively coordinated organization should be managed with the support strategies demonstrated across vital areas such as providing private security against thugs, feeding the protesters, airtime and data support to enhance online protests, swift medical attention, first aid team, prayer team, public defenders for the arrested, transparent budget, a seamless procurement process and a reliable communications system.
An amazing development was the swift change of financial donation channel from banking institutions to receiving donations in Bitcoins using BTC pay, which is a free, secured, and decentralized.
Nigerians have shown empathy by donating prosthetic leg for a female protester and were also spotted giving money to fellow Nigerians living under a bridge in Abuja. In addition, some youths have taken to distributing pamphlets explaining what the movement entails in order to erase all forms of misconstruction.
Nigerian youths have been featured in the front pages of various magazines, websites, Newspapers, including features on billboards, face paintings and animal inscription. They have also received financial supports, food and aids from companies like Chicken Republic and Rite Foods. Also, Environmental-based startups like Wecyclers have shown support by ensuring a waste-free protest.
Recently, the Lagos State Government allegedly reserved two slots in the judicial panel for youth representatives under 35 years old, requesting Nigerians to state who they prefer for the position via an online form – https://formpl.us/form/1616536001
