Phoebe Dami-Asolo Announced as Director of Operations for Coca-Cola India, Southwest Asia
Phoebe Dami-Asolo has been announced as the Director of Operations for Coca-Cola India, Southwest Asia. This makes her the first African female to occupy such a position in Coca-Cola. In her response, Dami-Asolo described her appointment as “an incredible opportunity” and “a humbling one which she hopes will inspire young African Talents to stop at nothing to achieve their dreams, especially females”.
Asake Signs Record Deal with American Record Label, Empire
Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Ahmed Ololade, well-known as Asake, has signed a new music deal with international record label, Empire. This was announced by Empire on its Twitter page on Monday, 18th of July 2022. Empire is an American distribution company and record label founded in 2010 by Ghazi Shami. The company is associated with Nigerian singers such as Olamide, Wande Coal, Fireboy, Kizz Daniel, and international acts such as Snoop Dogg, Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, and Fat Joe.
Chris Odeh’s Upcoming Film, “Choke” Will Be In Cinemas From July 29
Chris Odeh, producer of Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story is set to release a new movie titled ”Choke.” Choke is a first-of-its-kind psychological thriller produced in Nigeria. The film is written by Uche Ateli and directed by Orimz. Produced by Chris Odeh, “Choke” is set to hit the cinemas from the 29th of July, 2022. It stars Kanayo O. Kanayo and Chimezie Imo in lead roles. Other star actors include Nobert Young, Gloria Young, Trinity Ugonabo and Nkem Andrea Marchie.

Asisat Oshoala Named African Women’s Player of the Year for the Fifth Time
Superstar player, Asisat Oshoala has been named the 2022 African Women’s Player of the Year at the CAF Awards ceremony in Rabat on 21st July. Asisat becomes the first African to receive this accolade for the fifth time, overtaking Perpetua Nkwocha who claimed the honour four times.
