Temie Giwa-Tubosun, Ada Osakwe and Others Are Recipients of the Forbes Woman Africa Awards 2021
The 6th annual Forbes Woman Africa ‘Leading Women Summit’ (LWS) held in celebration of International Women’s Day has recognized some of Africa’s most influential women in business, sports, science, entertainment, and leadership. The event was held from 8th – 9th of March 2021.
The 2021 #LeadingWomenSummit, presented by Mastercard was an impactful two-day virtual event that focused on this year’s dynamic theme – Africa Reloaded: The Power of the Collective. The event featured some of the continents finest achievers and powerful female voices.
Amongst the unique African women honoured with the Forbes Woman Africa Awards, Temie Giwa-Tubosun, founder of LifeBank received the Technology and Innovation award while Ada Osakwe, an economist and founder of Agrolay Ventures received the Business Woman of the Year award. Get to know them below:
Temie Giwa-Tubosun
Temie Giwa-Tubosun is the proud founder of LifeBank, a healthcare company in Nigeria that facilitates the transmission of blood from labs across the country to patients and doctors in hospitals, quickly and efficiently. Temie Giwa-Tubosun has nine years of management and health policy experience with strong skills in project research, operations, monitoring and evaluation, system strengthening and operational research.
Ada Osakwe
Ada Osakwe is an entrepreneur and corporate executive. She is the founder of Agrolay Ventures, an agribusiness investment company that invests in an African agricultural food-related company. Ada is an investor and new ventures advocate in Africa, with over 15 years in private equity investing, development finance, public policy and startup venture building.
