The 15th Edition of the Headies Awards Is Here!
The 15th edition of the highly-anticipated Headies award show is scheduled for the 2nd of July 2022.
For the first time, the show will hold outside Nigeria at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta, the United States of America.
This announcement was made by Ayo Animashaun, the creator of the show during the Headies Big Announcement event, which aired via HipTV on Tuesday, 1st March 2022.
The event’s organizers also announced new changes to the award show which includes new categories and live streaming provisions by major tv and streaming platforms. New categories include Music Executive of the Year; Best Afrobeat Pop Single (Nigeria); Best Afrobeat Pop Album (Nigeria); Best African Collaboration; Best International Collaboration; African Artiste of the Year; and International Artiste of the Year. The Headies will also be introducing its talent hunt, called “Mic Check”
Themed ”Join the Movement, ” the 15th Headies Award will be hosted by the talented actress and TV host Nancy Isime. Fans can expect performances by popular dancer, Kaffy and singer Goya Menor.

Call for entries will run from the 8th of March to the 12th of April 2022. The winner of this year’s Next Rated category would be awarded a brand new Bently SUV.
The Headies Awards, originally known as the Hip Hop World Awards, was established in 2006 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of artists in the Nigerian music industry.
