The Investment Society, University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to hold a virtual edition of ‘The Colloquium 2020,’ with the theme: Shaping the Future: Trade, Investment and Technology. The event is scheduled to hold on the 13th and 14th of November 2020 at 10:45 am prompt.

For several years, The Colloquium has triggered conversations around various topics on finance, investment, technology, trade, and the future of African economy among students from different universities.

Since its inception, The Investment Society (TIS), UNILAG has gained recognition as one of the most resourceful and revered student investment society organized in sub-Saharan Africa. The student society includes intense training programs with industry-wide adventures, stock pitches, business case competitions and networking sessions to ground members with a solid knowledge base and various competitive skill set that will distinguish them in their career pursuit as well as qualify them for different competitions across various levels – local, national and international.

In the process of strengthening the commitment to prepare students for the future of investment, the prestigious student society has organised the largest student investment conference in sub-Saharan Africa in 2019, raising the bar from their previous groundbreaking conference, The Colloquium 2018. The admired student conference has generated concrete conversations around different topics among student representatives of various universities in Nigeria and Africa.

This year’s edition of the much-anticipated conference is set to record another groundbreaking achievement as it will virtually host over 1000 delegates from 20 universities across Africa, alongside renowned CEOs, authorities and top game players in various fields such as technology, international finance, media, trade, investment, education and research, to practically discuss the theme.

Expected keynote speakers at the virtual conference will include Cecelia Akintomide, Banji Fehintola, Maya Famodu, Abimbola Sulaiman, Blessing Omorerie, Babatunde Oladosu Diana Wilson, Wale Adeosun and more.
