Anthony Joshua, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, and Tyson Fury, WBC titleholder signed a £200 million two-fight deal on the 15th of March 2021, with the first fight to be held in June/July 2021. This will be the biggest fight in British boxing history and one of the biggest sporting events in the world as confirmed by Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter. 

Both champions are set to earn £100 million each from the purse as Joshua fights to defend his heavyweight belts against Fury, who aims to be crowned undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. 

Joshua, the unified champion will put his WBA, IBF and WBO belts in line against the WBC champion, Fury in what will be the biggest bout in the history of boxing. The winner will be crowned the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Currently, about nine countries in the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe and America are keen to host the all-British heavyweight unification showdown. The split for the first fight will be an even 50-50, with the winner going on to command 60-40 of the purse for the rematch. 

With the hardest part of signing the deal concluded, Joshua and Fury are finally set to go head-to-head in the ring after several months of tireless negotiations. Each fighter is bidding to become the first to hold the undisputed crown since Lennox Lewis.
