11-Year Old Musa Mustapha Ranks World’s Best U-11 Cadet Player
Nigeria’s table tennis star, Musa Mustapha has been ranked the world’s best in the boys’ U-11 cadet table tennis category by the International Table Tennis Federation, ITTF.
This remarkable feat makes Musa the first Nigerian and second African to top the world rank after Hana Goda’s achievement in 2020, where she was named the world best in the U-15 girls’ category.
In the ITTF ranking list released recently, Musa, with 128 points leads in the U-11 category while he is also ranked 17th position in the U-13 category alongside his brother Mustapha Mustapha, who ranked 18th position.
Since making his senior debut in the 2018 Nigeria Open in Lagos, the young star has received attention from the world table tennis ruling body.

The 11-year old Musa Mustapha was part of the Nigerian star team that won the 2019 ITTF Junior Circuit in Ghana. Interestingly, he will be taking part in the World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Series, (formerly ITTF World Junior Circuit) scheduled to hold later this year in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
Also, National Junior champion Taiwo Matti, is ranked 12th and 64th in the U-17 and U-19 world rankings respectively.
