Princess Owowoh Makes History at UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst

In a momentous occasion celebrated both in Nigeria and the global military community, Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu has etched her name in history as the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the esteemed United Kingdom’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). 

The ceremony took place amidst grandeur in London during RMAS’ Sovereign’s Parade, where Princess Owowoh, at 24, stood tall alongside 134 fellow Officer Cadets, marking the culmination of 44 weeks of intensive training for Commissioning Course 232.

Princess Owowoh’s remarkable journey began in 2018 when she enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Rising through the ranks with unwavering dedication and exceptional leadership qualities, she left an indelible mark during her tenure at the academy. Notably, she became one of the first females to hold the prestigious position of Company Senior Under Officer Charlie (CSUO C), among other notable achievements.

Alongside her military accolades, Princess Owowoh excelled academically, earning first-class honors in Biological Sciences. Her excellence and potential were recognized when she was chosen as one of the international cadets for leadership training at RMAS. This opportunity equipped her with invaluable skills and experiences.

As she stands on the threshold of a new chapter in her military career, Officer Cadet Oluchukwu is set to contribute her skills and expertise to the Nigerian military, where she will join the intelligence corps. Her achievement inspires aspiring female officers not only in Nigeria but across borders, showcasing the boundless opportunities within the realm of military service.
