Adaora Mbelu is a passion driven creative entrepreneur, brand developer, innovator, executive director, and founder of Lumination Global Network. Lumination Global Network is on a mission to empower individuals and organisations to live a life of purpose by providing platforms such as masterclasses, products, live events among others to help people and organisations transform and grow.

Adaora Mbelu founded Lumination Global Network in 2019 as an organisation committed to helping people build and live purpose driven lives. Lumination has impacted the lives of individuals across various industries as its vision is to see individuals become better versions of themselves. The organisation has been able to impact lives via The Lumination show, The Lumination podcast, Lumination Live and its teen platform, Lumination Z.

Adaora’s career spans over 10 years impacting people, brands as well as organisations across sectors catalyzing experiential growth and results by creating viable business strategies for organisations to adopt which has positively affected the business growth of brands, people and organisations she has worked with.

Adaora’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Entrepreneurship from Northern Kentucky University.

Prior to founding Lumination Global Network, she worked as a Media Manager with Mark Eddo Media where she worked on media management for the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s Africa Conference as well as managing correspondence among with international media organisations such as CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera etc. Adaora has also served as project manager on the Nigeria’s Got Talent show while working with Rapid Blue Format. She has also worked as a Corporate Communications Manager for OSMI during the 2010 World Cup where she managed all communications on the broadcast rights for Nigeria.

Led by the desire to see people live with purpose and passion, Adaora in 2016 founded Trellis Group, a group of companies in the brand development and experiential marketing space that has worked on several projects across various industries, with brands such as Microsoft, Google, Sterling Bank, Union Bank, Lagos State Government, Nokia, Diageo, Absolut. She is also the founder of Socially Africa, a foundation that gives back to the community through several initiatives which was launched in 2015. Through Socially Africa, Adaora launched projects such as “Art for a Cause” in 15 schools across Nigeria, impacting over 8,000 kids as well as running code classes for teenagers, teaching basic programming to teens among other initiatives.

Adaora is also the author of “This Thing Called Purpose”, a book that helps people understand the true essence of living with and through purpose.

In 2003, Adaora represented Nigeria at the Global Young Leaders Conference in New York, and Washington DC, USA. In 2017, she was mentioned in Entrepreneur Magazine’s “11 Africans that are changing the business landscape in Africa.” Adaora is a recipient of the Royal Leadership Award by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi (Ooni of Ife). She is a Future Awards Africa Nominee for “Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Prize for Media Enterprise” category. In 2019, she was awarded “Most Inspiring Woman” at the Her Network Woman of the Year Awards. Adaora has been featured among Nigeria’s Under 40 CEO’s, and Top 30 Under 30.
