Adebunmi Wellington is a Product and Innovation Leader with extensive financial and information technology expertise. She is the Chief Visionary Officer and Co-Founder of Credo, Africa’s first social payments platform that empowers its customers to do digital payments, understand their financial power, and the power of financial services.
As an IT professional, Adebunni is proficient in computer specialized programs and information systems, and has managed projects ranging from $200,000 to $50 million. She is highly successful in developing and implementing creative technology strategies, utilizing her skills and experience in seeking out innovative solutions for her clients.
Adebunmi possesses an exceptional capacity to enter new environments and immediately produce clear-cut results. She is always able to create meaningful, scalable and innovative experiences for both consumer and enterprise businesses.
With over 22 years of experience leading and motivating high-performance teams to deliver innovations that solve people and business challenges, Adebunmi has proven that her strengths lie in strategy building and transforming ideas and businesses into profitable entities.
Adebumi led the product development for the alpha mobile money & wallet operations in Nigeria. She has also led multiple product teams, birthing impactful products, some of which currently have large user bases and generate close to half a billion USD in revenue annually.
Adebunmi completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of Maryland.
Before Credo, Adebunmi served as a Quality Assurance Analyst at AOL (America Online) and climbed the ranks building teams and products along the way. She also worked across several industries and multinational organizations including some United States Government Agencies such as the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Adebunmi currently sits on the board of Hadada Financial, and teaches her mentees weekly on products, careers, entrepreneurship, and technology at Product Dojo, a leading Product Management Consulting Firm, and Coaching & Mentorship Centre she also founded two years ago.
