Applications are open for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Postgraduate Scholarship 2020/2021.

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship is a unique opportunity to do a two-years master’s degree in the Commonwealth.

This scholarship will avail students the opportunity to create changes in their communities through cultural exchanges and academic collaboration. Successful candidates will experience life in a new country and have access to a global network that will last for a lifetime.

The recipients receive fully funded tuition fees, living expenses allowance (stipend) for the duration of the award, return economy flights to their host country, an arrival allowance and research support grant – on request only, subject to approval.

To become eligible:

* Citizens (or those who hold refugee status) in a Commonwealth country can apply.

* Applicants must apply for a QECS (Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships) award sponsor in a country other than their home country/country of citizenship.

* There is no upper age limit to be eligible for a QECS Award.

* You must have already completed your degree and have graduated with an equivalent of a 2:1 at the time of application. As part of the application process you will be asked to provide a copy of your final transcript and degree certificate.

* QECS awards are only for new students and cannot be used to fund a course that has already been started.

Selection Criteria

The selection committee assesses applications using four key criteria:

* Academic history/references

* Plan of Study

* Development Impact and Post Study Outreach

* Creating Networks

The requirement for English language testing is dependent on the school selected. Ensure you look through your preferred university’s admission requirements. Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19, scholars will be advised to travel once travel restrictions are lifted and universities are open and accepting international students.
