Asisat Oshoala and Victor Osimhen Celebrate First Wins to Support the #EndSARS Movement

Super Falcons captain, Asisat Oshoala celebrated her first goal in the 2020-2021 Spanish Primera Iberdrola campaign with a clenched fist marking her support for the ongoing #EndSARS movement in Nigeria and in the diaspora. The Barcelona attacker scored her first goal for the season against Sporting Huelva.

Just within five minutes into the game, Asisat Oshoala broke the deadlock. The game ended 6-0 in favor of Barcelona. This was followed by Asisat’s celebration where she raised her right hand with a tight fist, demonstrating the #EndSARS symbol.

Afterwards, Asisat took to her official Twitter account to further support the movement by tweeting a picture conveying her support for the #EndSARS campaign. She tweeted “You already know the vibes, #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria #3pts @FCBfemeni.”

On the 17th of October 2020, Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen also represented the Nigerian protesters on the #EndSARS movement after he scored his first Serie A goal of the season in Napoli’s 4-1 thumping of Atlanta on Saturday.

“Victor scored in the 43rd minute after a brace from Hirving Lozano and a strike from Matteo Politano to put Napoli into a four-goal lead before the break.”

After scoring the goal, Osimhen raised a white shirt with the inscription ‘#End Police Brutality in Nigeria,’ to celebrate his goal.

Asides Asisat Oshoala and Victor Osimhen, hundreds of other celebrities, including artists, musicians, photographers, writers and athlete both home and abroad have thrown full support to the unwavering efforts of Nigerian youths during the course of the #EndSARS campaign, either through monetary donations, food/aids or by leading a physical campaign at various locations across the country and the diaspora.

As Nigerian youths take to the streets and other online communities to lay their demands, we hope that their unified efforts to bring changes in Nigeria result to a groundbreaking achievement in the history of Nigeria and Africa.
