The music industry in Nigeria is a country on its own; vibrant, happy, cool, great, splendid, positive, loving, powerful, we clearly can’t get enough adjectives to describe the glory that the Nigeria music industry exudes. This is a case of just believe it, do it and be great. Nigerian artists continue to surpass themselves every time. All over the world, the Nigerian music is a sure example of travelling without visa, hats off to the musicians and producers who make it happen 100% based on pure grit and dedication.
It is therefore a testament of the continued dedication to the music industry, that we had our very own artists featured on Beyoncé’s recent album; the Lion King album with the remake of the Lion King film. To accompany the release of the 3D animated version of the movie, Grammy award-winning artist, Beyoncé, released a 14-track album titled ‘The Lion King: The Gift’.
Beyoncé is also in the Lion King cast, and she has four solo songs on the album alongside collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and her daughter, Blu Ivy.
Nigeria’s top Afrobeats stars; Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tekno,Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage are featured on the album. Wizkid, is featured alongside Beyonce’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce and American artist Saint Jhn on a song called ‘Brown Skin Girl.’
