Burna Boy Is The First Nigerian and Afrobeats Artiste To Perform Live On The Main Stage At The Grammys

Nigeria artistes continue to spotlight the country on a global scale with their talents of diverse proportions and Burna Boy’s latest feat is one of many firsts to come. 

Burna Boy has made history as the first Nigerian and Afrobeats artiste to perform live on the main stage at the 66th Grammy Awards! This year’s event was held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. 

Burna Boy started by delivering an electrifying performance with the hit song “On Form” which absolutely captivated the audience. He proceeded to perform “City Boys”, and thrilled the audience further with more songs from his latest album, “I Told Them”.

Burna Boy excited the audience with the presence of iconic singer, Brandy, and rapper, 21 Savage for their collaboration on “Sittin’ on Top of the World.” 

This feat has also made Burna Boy recognized as the first  Nigerian singer to be featured on the Grammy Awards cover, alongside other international singers.

The Grammy award-winning singer, who won his first Grammy Award in 2021, was introduced by the Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., as the “superstar from Nigeria.”
