Chioma Mordi Appointed as MD/ CEO of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria
Chioma Mordi has been appointed as the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria. Her appointment was confirmed by the Board of Directors, Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria.
Chioma Mordi succeeds Mrs Hilda Nkorwho, the previous CEO of the society.
Speaking on her appointment, Mr Muhammed said,
“She has over 10 years’ experience working in operations, strategic development and execution, programmes curriculum development, partnership engagement, and research experience with a focus on corporate governance and leadership, all at The Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria. She has grown through the ranks of the organization, developing strategic leadership and management capabilities that have prepared her to lead the society to greater heights of impact and value.”
Also, while accepting her new role, an excited Chioma Mordi said,
“Nigeria is a great nation that the society will continue to craft strategies in repositioning its corporate governance processes, especially in these unique and interesting times.”
Chioma Mordi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Statistics from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, a Master of Business Administration from IESE Business School and another MBA from the Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University. She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Chioma Mordi has a proven track record of initiating growth-driven strategies, alongside a demonstrated expertise across areas of management and business development.
Until her appointment, she served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Society for Corporate Governance in Nigeria, where she played a vital role in establishing important national and international collaborations with renowned institutions such as CBN, NDIC, NSE, etc., which boosted the reputation of the institution.
