Dr Funmilayo Waheed-Adejoko
Dr Funmilayo Waheed-Adejoko, popularly known as Funmi Ayinke is an Entrepreneur and Philanthropist. She is the Managing Director/Chief Executive officer of FunmiAyinke Nigeria Limited, a fast-leading engineering services company in Nigeria; and Founder of Funmi Ayinke Humanity Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping vulnerable children, youths and widows.
Funmi Ayinke’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo State and an Executive Master of Business Administration. She was recently recognized as a Chartered Management Consultant by the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, having fulfilled all the requirements. This recognition is an addition to previous awards and fellowship gained over the years in her career and services to humanity. Additionally, she received two honorary Doctorate degrees from the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominica and the Scientifique Universite Protestante De LAfrique De LOuest, Port Novo, Republic of Benin.
A professional engineer, Funmi is associated with different reputable organizations. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Management Specialist FIMS (UK) and the Centre for Productivity and Development. She is also a Certified Engineer by the Council for Regulatory of Engineers in Nigeria, Project Management Professional, PMI USA global, Certified Procurement Cadre by the Bureau of Public Procurement Presidency in Nigeria amongst others.
As well as her remarkable professional achievements, Funmi is an award-winning music artist who recently launched her music record label – FunmiAyinke Music Record Label. She has received several accolades for her motivational songs including the 2021 West Africa Gospel Music Awards for Best Inspirational Song of the year and the Best Songwriter of the year 2020/2021, Best Motivational Song of the year by City People Magazine Award, Best Songwriter by City People Magazine and recently received a nomination for Gbedu Music Award in Ghana.

In line with her commitment to humanity, Funmi has successfully supported over 15,000 Nigerian youths and widows through education and empowerment programmes organized by the organization amongst other gestures. To broaden her reach, she holds a weekly online Talent Hunt programme that attracts more than 30,000 participants. Youths are trained via this platform on the skills and talents needed to attain their various career goals. The programme also awards cash prizes to the top five candidates who participate in a competition.
Funmi has been widely celebrated for her work in philanthropy. She is the recipient of several awards including the Leadership Award of Excellence presented in 2017 for her contributions to societal development, the Outstanding Women in National Development Merit award in 2019 by Cooperate and Media Africa Communications Limited, an award of excellence for her contribution to human capacity building, Humanitarian of the year 2020 award by City People Magazine and the Pan-African Distinguished Leadership Hall of Fame Award presented by the West African Students Union, (WASU) also in 2020.
