Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe
Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe is the Chief Executive Officer of Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), an organization which leverages the capabilities, assets, and resources of the private sector to drive improvements in the Nigerian health sector.
A healthcare administrator with over 20 years of experience spanning across clinical medicine, health services, health insurance, health ICT, health diagnostics and the non-profit sector, Dr. Tinuola works to ensure that basic healthcare is available to all.
As CEO, she leads the PSHAN team to actively engage private sector players to take bold, positive steps to achieve universal health coverage in Nigeria by providing accessible, affordable, and first-rate healthcare solutions to everyday Nigerians.

PSHAN has been at the forefront of collaboration with both local and international development communities to address inequities in access to healthcare services in Nigeria. This includes partnerships with The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Access Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and about 40 other corporate and institutional partners.
Before PSHAN, Dr. Tinuola worked with Lagoon and St. Nicholas Hospitals both in Lagos, before moving onto mainstream insurance at Healthcare International Ltd, and later Oceanic Health Management Ltd. She worked at GlobeMed Healthcare Solutions as the Medical Director, and joined Health Assur Ltd, as the pioneer MD/CEO.
Dr. Tinuola completed a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Lagos and a post graduate diploma and master’s degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London.
Dr. Tinuola serves on the Board of Drug Aid Africa. She is actively involved in mentoring students and young professionals, and works with several charities and non-profits to raise funds for community health initiatives.
