Edmund Olotu
Edmund Olotu is a technology development expert and seed-stage entrepreneur with a focus on developing technologies and funding innovative concepts that aid social development. He is currently the Founder/Chief Innovation Officer of Bloc (formerly TechAdvance 2009). Bloc builds and provides financial technology that enables founders, thinkers, startups, and organisations to create the future.
Before taking the giant leap to become Bloc, Edmund Olotu’s TechAdvance develops collections, aggregation and transaction data analytics platforms for multiple industry verticals including but not limited to utilities, transportation, and IGR – processing payments for electricity companies across Nigeria. It was nominated by the London Stock Exchange Group as one of 100 companies to inspire Africa in 2019.
Edmund is also the founder of Generate4schools/Causemetrix LLC. Generate4schools/Causemetrix provides a platform that enables the use of commissions from recurring transaction revenues to fund social programs. It is the first program for underfunded schools in the USA using merchant account premiums from local businesses in partnership with FirstData.
Amongst his other ventures, is SuperGeeks, a personal consumer electronics after-sales service and gadget insurance company featured on CNN as one of Nigeria’s most innovative start-ups; Reydious Limited, an agric technology R&D company and West Africa Mining Corporation operating gold and diamond mining acreages in Sierra Leone and Liberia. He was also Co-Founder/CFO at Molecmo Nano biotechnologies Inc., (now Novira Therapeutics) a novel antiviral drug discovery company sold to Johnson and Johnson for $600M in 2015, and Founder/CEO at G-Pay Instant Payments Limited from January 2011 to September 2017.

The tech entrepreneur also served in the capacity of General Manager- Strategy and International Business Development at HiTV Media Limited between January 2009 to December 2010 and as Business Development and Corporate Venturing Associate at Openlink Software Company in June 2006.
Edmund holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering with Business from Manchester University, a Master’s degree in Science and Technology entrepreneurship with distinction from Nottingham University Business School and a Master’s degree in Management Finance and Control from Harvard University.
