Eyitayo Ogunmola
Eyitayo Ogunmola is a technologist, a people development expert, an artificial intelligence specialist, a product manager as well as an edtech and social entrepreneur. He is currently the founder of Utiva, a technology education platform helping African talents access premium digital skills training for the future of work.
A versatile business leader, Eyitayo’s experience spans over 8 years across product management, consulting, social impact investment and digital transformation across sectors locally and internationally.
Prior to founding Utiva, Eyitayo started his career in international development, working on USAID funded programs across six countries. In 2014, with the grant support of the United States government through the consulate in Nigeria, he co-founded TIE Nigeria, a governance and social leadership driven organization. The organization launched a ‘Speak to leadership’ programme which was measured to improve women and youth participation in 4 communities, engaged more than 131 youth leaders on the 2015 electioneering procedures and also created platforms for engaging public officer holders. He has also served as vice president product innovation at PM Hub in the UK where he worked on customer centric technology products. Eyitayo also helped develop strategies and innovative processes to put Afrissance, an enterprise transformation consulting firm at the forefront in the consulting industry while serving as Vice President of product.
Utiva was founded in 2017 by Eyitayo from his passion to see young Africans gain access to world class technology skills at an affordable rate. Utiva is a decentralized virtual tech platform that provides access to premium digital skills training to young Africans. The company uses a blend of on-site, virtual, instructor-led, and AI-powered learning approaches to accelerate the process of premium digital skill training. Utiva also has an encrypted product device called “The Nucleus” which was developed to help learners access more than 40 pre-installed classes on various courses with less dependence on the internet. Utiva has trained more than 5000 young people as of 2020.

Eyitayo is a Chevening Scholar, an Atlas Corps Fellow, and a Global Good Fund fellow. He is also a 2020 Facebook Accelerator Leader and a 2020 Halcyon Incubator Fellow. Eyitayo is also a Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEEP) Mentor. Through TEEP, Eyitayo mentors start-ups across different countries in Africa. He helps redevelop and revamp business plans to reflect fluidity and reality. He also develops business models integrating financial plans for funding as well as adopting lean enterprise models to cut down operational cost and improve net margins.
