Freda Anyanwu, a business leader driving entrepreneurship education in Africa

Freda Anyanwu is a business and project management executive leading strategy and design thinking in emerging markets. She is the founder of EBH Africa, Africa’s foremost digital business hub that focuses on providing a one stop place for African entrepreneurs to access resources for business growth such as community, courses, information and funding in order to build sustainable businesses.

​Beyond entrepreneurial skills training, EBH Africa provides a real-world advantage to entrepreneurs through capacity building, accessible business support services, a supportive network of like-minded entrepreneurs across various industries and access to funding opportunities such as grants and loans.

Passionate about fostering human capital and economic development in Africa through entrepreneurial innovation, Freda, through EBH Africa, has empowered over 4,000 entrepreneurs across ten countries globally in just three years.

Freda speaks on prestigious platforms like TEDx, US-Africa Youth Entrepreneurship Summit and the Africa Business Convention, addressing crucial topics related to youth development, entrepreneurship, and economic growth in Africa. 

As a featured expert, Freda’s insights have been shared with diverse audiences, and she has been featured in renowned publications including Business Day, Vanguard, and Independent Newspaper as one of Nigeria’s Enterprising Young persons.

Freda completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Education from Benson Idahosa University and a Certification in Design Thinking, Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Clark

Before EBH Africa, Freda served as the Entrepreneurship Development Manager of Edo State Skills Development Agency and she led the unit to drive economic growth in the state by providing support to over 20,000 small businesses through various initiatives and programs such as the EdoJobs Business Community, Transforming Nigerian Youth Program with Enterprise Development Centre, MasterCard Foundation, and Edo Online Marketplace.

Freda currently serves as Program Manager at Co-creation Hub, a Pan African Innovation Center, where she contributes to startup support initiatives, leveraging my expertise to nurture and elevate emerging businesses.

Freda is a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow, and she has won numerous awards including the Superwoman 30 under 30 award for entrepreneurship, 2020 Young Entrepreneur of the year by The Entrepreneur Africa Awards, Entrepreneurship award by the Ladies of Honour Organization, Young Event Professional of the year 2021 by the BusyBee Excellence Award, award nomination for the 25 under 25 awards by SME100 Africa in 2019, Nigeria’s 30 under 30 influential young people by ANALAWGY Magazine.
