GT Bank Sets Up 100-Bed Intensive Care Unit for Covid – 19

Guaranty Trust Bank, a leading Nigerian bank, is setting up a 100-bed Intensive Care Centre at Onikan, Lagos for Nigerians that may be infected by Covid -19, the bank said on the 24th of March 2020.

Segun Agbaje, CEO, GTBank in a statement recently, stated that the center will be fully equipped with all the necessary gadgets, including respirators and personnel to treat and care for those that may be infected.

The statement read thus:

“At GTBank, our people are our most valuable asset, and your health and safety are our utmost concern. That is why we are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and taking all the necessary precautions to make sure that our workplaces remain safe for everyone. Our customers and stakeholders are also counting on us during this difficult time, and it is our duty to be there for them, as they navigate the uncertainties caused by the outbreak.

As an organization, beyond the safety measures we have put in place across our offices and branches, we are also lending ourselves to doing more to beat this outbreak. We are setting up a fully equipped 100-bed Intensive Care Centre at Onikan for the Nigerian people. The Centre will be fully equipped with all the necessary equipment including respirators and personnel to treat and care for those that may become affected. We are fully committed to having the Centre fully set up by the end of this week.

As you know, COVID-19 is having a growing impact on every aspect of our society, and it is only by working together that we can defeat the outbreak. Individually, this means that we must assume a greater sense of responsibility.
