Our very own superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkid brought the distinguished Grammy awards home, blazing the trail across the African continent. Other achievers include Emmanuella Samuel, Nabila Aguele and Anthony Joshua. As we have in our Weekly Hall of Fame, we recognize these achievers changing the narrative in their respective industries, and pushing the frontiers of excellence.
Huge Win for Burna Boy and Wizkid at the 63rd Grammys
Afrobeats giant Burna Boy, won the Grammy award for Best Global Music Album, earning him his first Grammy award, while the Twice as Tall album becomes the first Afrobeats album to win at the Grammys. Also, Nigeria’s most decorated artiste ever, and one of the most revolutionary Afro-pop artist, Wizkid won an award in the Best Music Video category for his feature in Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl.
We Are Rooting for Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, and Tyson Fury, WBC titleholder have signed a £200 million two-fight deal, which would be the biggest fight in British boxing history and one of the biggest sporting events in the world. Joshua, the unified champion will put his WBA, IBF and WBO belts in line against the WBC champion, Fury in what will be the biggest bout in the history of boxing.

Emmanuella Samuel, Nigeria’s popular YouTube Child comedian won the Favourite African Social Media Star category of the 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards by public voting. Congratulations to her!

Nabila Aguele, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning has been appointed to the INSEAD Board of Directors. As stated by INSEAD, Nabila Aguele “is a true global citizen and experienced leader”.
