Adewale Wally Adeyemo was confirmed the Deputy Treasury Secretary by the United States Senate, following his nomination by US President Joe Biden in November 2020. On his appointment, he becomes the first African-American to assume Deputy Secretary of the US treasury department’s position.

Omolola Salako Wins Astellas’ Oncology C³ Grand Prize

Omolola Salako, founder of Oncopadi Digital Cancer Clinic was announced winner of the fifth annual Astellas Pharma C³ Grand Prize. Through her digital platform Oncopadi, Omolola is helping cancer patients to access the right specialist care. Oncopadi uses web and mobile platforms to connect cancer patients with specialists and hospitals they need to access professional care in Nigeria. 

Ogbonnaya Mark, an Igbo Linguist, Author and Translator, Who Read his Book to Pass his Semester Exam at the University

Ogbonnaya Mark defied all odds to achieve greatness at his current stage. He has over 25 published Igbo books to his credit, and a total of 58 published and unpublished manuscripts in the Igbo Language. He has translated the BBC guidelines in Igbo before the launch of the BBC Igbo Service, and also translated for the UNESCO.

Zizah Okeugo, a Creative 12-Year Old is Presenting a Solo Art Exhibition!

Zizah Okeugo is presenting a solo exhibition titled: “Eidetic Impressions”. The talented 12-year old presents a rare peek into his creative mind in the showcase. 

Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team are Qualifiers of the 2022 AFCON

Nigeria’s football team, Super Eagles have qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON. After successfully defeating Benin Republic’s Squirrels, the final Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Lesotho’s  Crocodiles held on 30th March at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, after about 10 years since the Super Eagles played in Lagos.

Kelechi Iheanacho is Premier League Player of the Month, March!

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho won the Premier League Player of the Month award for March. The Foxes’ striker was one of the eight contenders for the award and won ahead of  Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
