Ikorodu Bois, Emmanuella Nominated for 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards
The nomination list for the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, an annual US children awards produced by Nickelodeon has been officially released with two young Nigerian superstars clinching spots in the award category.
The 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards recognizes the biggest and most entertaining stars across the world of film, television, music, sports, video games and social media.
Ikorodu Bois, a Nigerian online comedy group recreating and mimicking multi-million-dollar music videos, Hollywood movie trailers and epic pictures; and Emmanuella Samuel, (Emmanuella) a 10-year old comedian have been nominated for the 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
Ikorodu Bois and Emmanuella were nominated in the ‘Favourite African Social Media Star’ category, alongside other African nominees like Elsa Majimbo, Bonang Matheba, Wiam Van Den Berg and Ghetto Kids. Master KG, South Africa’s ‘Jerusalema’ hitmaker also received a nomination in the ‘Favourite Global Music Star’ category.

Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber leads the list with five nominations, followed by Stranger Things, who got four nominations. Others like Ariana Grande, Henry Danger, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Trolls World Tour and Wonder Woman 1984 got three nominations each.
The award event will be hosted by actor and comedian, Kenan Thompson, who will take both kids and parents on a “wild and slimy ride”. The event will air locally on NickToons (DSTV channel 308) on Monday, the 15th of March 2021 and will also repeat on Nickelodeon (DSTV channel 305) on Wednesday, the 17th of March 2021.
Nickelodeon is an American pay television channel, launched in April 1979 as the first cable channel for children. The network’s programming is primarily targeted at children and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 17, while some of its programs target a broader family audience.
