John Dumelo is a renowned Ghanaian actor, businessman and politician who has captivated audiences around the world with his talent, charisma, and versatility in the movie industry.

Dumelo began his acting journey in the early 1990s with a role in the movie “Baby Thief” when he was just 7 years old. With his charismatic presence and compelling performances, Dumelo quickly rose to prominence, earning accolades and admiration from various audiences.

The first Ghanaian to achieve a million likes on Facebook, Dumelo’s unwavering commitment to make a positive impact in his community and contribute to the development of his country is clearly seen in all his endeavours.

Dumelo completed a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Certification from  GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance.

Beyond acting, Dumelo is also a successful entrepreneur. He launched his clothing line; J.Melo in 2012 and he embarked on both crop and animal farming, showcasing his diverse interests and business acumen.

Driven by a desire to effect positive change, Dumelo ran for political office, seeking to represent his constituents and advocate for their interests at the highest levels of government. His political aspirations reflect his commitment to public service and his belief in the power of governance to transform lives and communities.

Dumelo has been actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors and community outreach initiatives. In January 2023, the University of Ghana recognized him for his philanthropic gestures towards their students.

Dumelo was honored with the 2011 Afro Australian Movies and Music Awards, and he received accolades at the 2017 Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ougadougou (FESPACO) and the Ghanaian movie awards.
