Kelechi Iheanacho Makes Premier League History with Leicester City’s Strike against Chelsea

Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, on Tuesday night, made history following his strike against Chelsea. Thanks to his effort against Thomas Tuchel’s men, the foxes’ striker wrote his name in the English elite division’s history books.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s strike against Chelsea makes the Nigerian international the first player in the Premier League history to score a goal on all weekdays within a single season in the competition.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s 76th-minute goal for Leicester City further confirmed Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson’s latest accolade as he retains the Premier League Golden Glove award. Ederson has now retained his award for the most clean-sheets, with the Brazilian having kept 18 clean-sheets in Manchester City’s League matches so far this season – enough to secure the award for a second season on the bounce.

The Nigerian international now hopes to lead Leicester to victory in the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in their final Premier League tie of the season. His side is now in the fourth position on the Premier League table log with 66 points from 37 games.
