Mohammed Ibrahim Jega

Mohammed Ibrahim Jega is an entrepreneur and founder of the technology innovation hub, Startup Arewa. He is also Co-founder of Domineum Business Services Limited, a company providing blockchain and SaaS solutions, and is well known as the Chief Business Development Officer at VoguePay, a seamless online payment platform. Mohammed Ibrahim Jega is our MCM today.

With over 15 years working in the business and technology sectors, Mohammed has built expertise across areas such as Business Development and Strategy, Marketing, Project Management and Leadership. His investment interest lies within the financial technology / block-chain technology and cybersecurity.

Mohammed obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Information Management from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Mohammed founded the non-governmental organization, StartUp Arewa in 2016 to help young technology entrepreneurs and digital talents explore their skills. Startup Arewa has expanded to having 19 different hubs in 19 states across Nigeria. The innovation hub has since inception supported young Africans, as shown in the summit launched in 2018 to enable more than 500 Nigerian youths to learn new digital skills. Mohammed has also partnered with the northern government, private firms and individuals under the startup to enable technology inclusion in the northern region and to build a sustainable northern tech ecosystem.

By co-founding Domineum, Mohammed alongside his team have helped African governments save more than $5 million in 2019. He was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Board, Domineum Business Services Limited.

Working as the Chief Business Development Officer at VoguePay has placed Mohammed in charge of identifying and converting prospective business opportunities into a robust channel of income. He also plans, pitches and works alongside other team members to develop proposals that will drive client’s needs and objectives.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership and entrepreneurial skills, Mohammed has received various awards including being honoured as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Africa Youths Award in Kenya, 2016. He was listed as one of the most influential young Nigerians by Avance Media in 2017 and also as one of the members of Nigeria’s presidential advisory group in 2018. In the same year, Mohammed was included in the Vice-President of Nigeria, Yemi Osibanjo’s delegation to Silicon Valley and was appointed in 2020 as one of the directors at the Silicon-Valley based Founder Institute, the world’s foremost pre-seed startup accelerator founded to help tech startups get funding with a support network of startup experts.

Mohammed holds membership at various national and international organizations such as Forbes Business Council, Presidential Advisory Council on Innovation and Creativity and the Young Innovators Nigeria. He currently sits as the Chairman of the Board, AIESEC, Zaria, and AgriTECH Hub. He is also an ambassador to several sciences and technology-based organisations like the CODEFEST INTERNATIONAL and the Cyber Security Challenge Nigeria (CYSEC NG). Mohammed also serves as an International Partner to the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF).
