Nnamdi Ezeigbo
Nnamdi Ezeigbo is the Founder of SLOT Systems Limited, the leading retail company for affordable and durable mobile phones, computer accessories and various types of electronics. He is the brain behind Tecno and Infinix, one of the fast-selling mobile phones brand in Nigeria.
Nnamdi holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Electronics Engineering from Lagos State University, LASU. He further obtained a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.
Shortly after completing his National youth service in 1996, Nnamdi tried to secure a white-collar job. However, in order to add value to himself while looking out for a job, he went on to serve as an apprentice, learning how to repair computers. Six months down the line, he launched his own computer repair centre. By delivering premium services and satisfaction to his clients, Nnamdi continued to rise fast in the business of repair and sale of computers and printers. Today, he leads the sale of Nigeria’s fast-selling phone brand with his company, SLOT Systems Limited. Being one of the first to announce and introduce new mobile phones to the Nigerian market and to provide first-class after-sales support, the company has grown to have several retail outlets nationwide plus over 700 staff.

Nnamdi had quite an interesting journey with the Tecno and Infinix brand. At the time, a lot of people had more than one sim card and Nnamdi decided to partner with a phone company to create dual sim phones for the Nigerian market. Nnamdi approached the Nokia brand, however, the proposal did not take off. He went to China where he met a former staff of Bird, a phone manufacturing company at that time. Nnamdi went on to pitch his dual sim idea and they both agreed to work together. Shortly afterwards, Tecno was created and their first Tecno T101 phone was launched, and later, T201. Introducing Tecno to the Nigerian market in 2006 marked the start of a new growth phase in his business.
With the Tecno brand fully in place, the Infinix brand was birthed to cater for all classes of individuals in Nigeria. Today, both brands are the fastest selling phone brands in Nigeria with a solid reputation which guarantees their continuous growth in the market.
In recognition of his contribution to the Nigerian economy, Nnamdi was awarded the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Award for Excellent Business Innovation in 2014, and the 2017 entrepreneur award by the Authority Newspaper. SLOT Systems has won notable awards such as the Nigerian Telecom Award in 2014, Nigeria Customer Service Award in 2015, Nigerian Telecom Awards for Mobile Phone Dealer of the year 2016 and Business Day most Innovative SME Award in 2017.
He has two foundations to his credit and has written a book entitled ‘Entrepreneurship: The Slot Way’, to teach business sustainability. The book is available on www.slot.ng
